Susan completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University and a Family Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Maryland. Then, she moved back overseas to the United Arab Emirates where she ran a primary care clinic for the US Embassy. She spent a total of 12 years in the Middle East. She loves the people, cultures, and living surrounded by centuries of history. Susan returned to Utah 11 years ago to get back to Utah's natural beauty ? and skiing. While working at her first job back at an addiction clinic, she discovered a love for Behavioral Health. This caused her to pursue an advanced specialty certificate as a Psych-Mental Health Nurse Practioner. Susan was the Director of Psychiatric Faculty Practice at the University of Utah College of Nursing. During that time, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Leadership and Organizational Management. Clinically, her focus for the last few years has been Child and Adolescent Mental Health and she has worked with Juvenile Justice, in residential treatment centers, and other community health clinics. Her aim in working with patients is to help them meet their goals to feel better and function better. Susan is the proud mother of 3 children, two in college, and one who is in middle school. For fun, she enjoys cooking, eating, skiing, hiking, playing tennis, and doing anything on the water. She also looks forward to traveling again ? someday.
