APP Family Medicine Fellowship Program - St. George
A gradual immersion into Family Medicine as a new APP provider by a full panel of specialists in a structured, supervised 12-month program.
About our program
We are excited to announce our new Family Medicine / Primary Care APP Fellowship Program! (Selected candidates will spend 75% of their time in family medicine and 25% in primary care.)
The Advanced Practice Provider Family Medicine Fellowship in St. George is our selective program for recent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant graduates with an interest in furthering their education in the field of Family/Primary practice. Our 12-month training program includes clinical time with the guidance of experienced mentors, rotations through multiple specialties, didactic lectures, journal clubs, and opportunities to participate in QI projects.
Our clinics provide comprehensive care for all ages, from newborns and pediatric patients to adults and seniors. Fellows will gain experience managing preventive care, acute visits, and chronic disease across the lifespan. The selected fellow will spend time at our family medicine clinics in St. George, Cedar City, and Hurricane for an exposure to a wide range of patient populations and medical conditions.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a unique passion for serving a wide range of patients in their community, a strong work ethic, and a self-driven approach to learning. This position is designed to transition newer APPs to independent practice.

Application process
Our Fellowship application process consists of three components, and all three must be completed by Friday, March 6 at 11:59 pm MT. If you are seeking a position after this date, our next recruitment season will open February 2027. Please email APPfellowship@imail.org to be added to the notification list.

Applications will be thoroughly reviewed and a select number of candidates will be invited to an in-person interview with program and recruiting staff. Our inaugural interview day is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Our next interview day is anticipated to occur in March 2027.

What you’ll bring:
- Must have a current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Utah AND have taken board examinations 90 days prior to start date.
- Must have a certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program within the 12 months prior to start date, and if applicable, be employed for no more than nine months as an APP prior to start date.
- Must hold a current Utah DEA certificate and Utah Pharmacy license prior to start date (or have applications in-process).
- Must have a valid BLS certification prior to start date (or in process).
