The intensive In-Home Therapy program focuses on supporting the family unit and determining what therapeutic changes can be created to help the health and happiness of the child ages two to 12 years and adult(s) living in the home. Therapists and behavior coaches are trained in various evidence-based modalities to provide specialized care that meets the individual needs of the child and family.
Our team strengthens the family’s inner workings. We build structure and routine for communication, trust, relationships and safety. We give therapeutic attention to developing skills in regulation and coping for everyone in the home.
Therapy and coaching in the real-life environment support real-life change and longer-lasting change following services. Therefore, our In-Home Therapy team partners with the child and parent(s) to develop goals for services. Together, they prioritize concerns while respecting the family's values and needs. To meet goals, the child and parent are both required to be present during therapy sessions.
While most sessions are held in the home, sessions can also be held in the community to support specific goals. Building social interaction skills or building increased transition tolerance are some examples. Non-traditional hours for these sessions are available and most sessions are held after school. This flexibility provides support during the family’s routine and when the child is usually home.
The In-Home Therapy program serves families in the Denver Metro area within 25 driving miles of our campus (4159 Lowell Blvd., Denver, CO). Sessions are usually held twice per week, once with each team member. They are approximately two hours each, totaling four to five hours per week. Families can add hours temporarily during crises and challenging times. We enroll families for an average of eight months. The needs and goals of each family will determine service length. We also offer 24/7 crisis support through our crisis phone line.
