Aquatic therapy for your health

Use the unique properties of water to heal and exercise.

As part of the TOSH Arthritis Program, the Aquatic Program offers aquatic therapy (or pool therapy) classes in TOSH’s 25-meter, five-lane pool. Pool therapy uses water’s unique properties to help you exercise and strengthen your muscle groups with decreased spine and joint stress.

AquaFit

Aquatic therapy helps strengthen your body while treating your physical conditions. While doing aquatic therapy, you will use the unique properties of water to assist in your healing journey. The viscosity of water is an excellent source of resistance – and when coupled with the water’s buoyancy, this resistance allows you to strengthen your muscle groups with decreased spine and joint stress. Our specialized aquatic program offers you exercise that cannot be replicated on land.

Required Health Screenings

Prior to participating in our aquatic therapy classes, you will meet with an exercise clinician for an initial health screening to evaluate your fitness level, range of motion, pain, and to create a personalized treatment plan. This screening will be billed to your primary insurance company. It is the responsibility of the patient to know their personal insurance coverage.

A follow-up screening will be performed every four months. The outcomes we measure help us structure our program to meet your needs.
