What You Get at The Running Lab
We provide options for runners at every level. Whether you run for fun or are training for a marathon, we create a personalized experience to help you reach your goals.
Musculoskeletal Function Analysis: an in-depth physical exam of your body's strength and joint flexibility using a Function Movement Screen. We review your running and injury history and future goals to develop a plan for injury-prevention and performance.
Video Analysis: a state-of-the-art video analysis of your form and running mechanics with live feedback that will help you take your skills to the next level. We look at common running form "bad habits" such as bounding, over-striding, and heel striking.
Customized Trianing Program: a personalized program based on our finding to help you prevent injury and improve performance. We provide exercise prescriptions to improve strength in key areas, training modifications, and shoe recommendations.
Performance Tests and Analysis (see pricing)
Lactate Assessment: a measurement of the accumulation of lactic acid in your muscles during exercise. A lactate test provides runners with information about training zones and exercise intensity.
VO2 Max Test: a measurement of the maximum capacity of your body to transport oxygen during exercise. A VO2 test reflects the general fitness level of an individual.
Professional Analysis: a 1-on-1 meeting with a Running Lab professional to review your performance test and explain in detail how the results can be applied to a training program.
Our team is made up of sports medicine physicians, exercise physiologists, athletic trainers and physical therapists. We offer years of clinical experience related to running mechanics, injury assessment and sports performance.
