This beautiful hike follows a paved trail along the shoreline of Utah Lake from Vineyard Beach to Lindon Marina. It features easy access to the lake itself and incredible views of the lush wetlands and abundant wildlife that surround it. This trail is wheelchair and stroller accessible and is suitable for children and adults of all ages and abilities.
The Vineyard Beach Trail begins on Vineyard Road on the east shore of Utah Lake. To reach the trailhead from I-15 near Orem, UT:
- Take Exit 272 for 800 North.
- Turn west onto 800 North and drive 1.4 miles to Main Street.
- Turn left (south) onto Main Street and continue 0.4 miles to 400 North.
- Turn right onto 400 North and continue 0.5 miles to the Vineyard Beach parking area on the left (40.306302,-111.762840).
Begin walking north on the paved walkway, passing by several picnic tables and pavilions along the way. After 0.8 miles the trail passes Vineyard Beach, where a stairway provides access to the lake. Keep hiking north, passing by a beautiful wetland area on the left. Watch for a variety of interesting birds and waterfowl that live in the area.
After 1.5 miles, the trail arrives at the entrance to Lindon Marina. You may follow the paved trail a short distance behind the marina, or turn around and return the way you came. Total round trip walking distance to the marina and back is approximately 1.5 miles.
