What Sets Us Apart
Our History
Heber Valley Hospital has a rich history of providing medical care to Wasatch County. Heber Valley Hospital's roots go back to 1932 when the first hospital was opened in Lewis Alexander's home by Doctors Bert and T.A. Danneberg. In 1956 the hospital was renamed in honor of Dr. Karl O. Nielson and dedicated on May 25, 1969. Just before the 2002 Olympics, in 1999, Intermountain Healthcare opened a new state-of-the-art medical facility at 454 East Medical Way, which expanded healthcare access for our community.
In order to meet the needs of a growing community in 2015, we embarked on a renovation project that added many inpatient and outpatient services to the campus, including expanded and improved surgical suites, extended urgent and emergency care services, Intermountain Cancer Services, and infusion therapy.
