Chewing—is it something you ever even think about? Well, you should. It's an important part of healthy eating. Failing to properly chew your food leads to digestive difficulties (ugh, a stomachache!). Plus, chewing food correctly makes it more delicious and satisfying and also means you are less likely to overeat.

Most people put food in their mouths, chew a few times, and then swallow. Yet, the goal is not to get it down fast but to get the most out of it!

The reason for chewing is to break down the food into much smaller particles, increasing the surface area and exposing it to saliva, which makes it easier to digest and also for your body to use the nutrients your food contains.

Slow down, chew more. You'll get more enjoyment and nutrition from your food and you will also be less likely to overeat. It's a win-win!
