What Sets Us Apart

TOSH – The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital in Murray, Utah, is Intermountain Healthcare’s home for comprehensive orthopedic healthcare and sports medicine excellence. Since 1991, our experienced and skilled physicians, APPs, and caregivers have served patients and athletes throughout Utah with a wide range of orthopedic specialties and services—all at one campus.

A 40-bed specialty hospital, TOSH focuses on preventative care and offers efficient procedures and treatments for joints, back and neck, spine, and extremities with excellent outcomes and low costs. Our teams also offer services for care for arthritis, hearing, and balance.

TOSH features Intermountain Sports Medicine and Sports Performance services. Along with treating sports-related injuries, we help athletes prevent sports-related injuries, identify and improve areas of weakness, create custom training and nutrition plans, and elevate all levels of athleticism.

Right in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, our campus also provides comprehensive physical therapy, cash-based specialty and sports programs, and imaging, nutrition, and lab services.

History

TOSH was established in 1991 as Utah’s premier orthopedic specialty hospital. TOSH was built on the campus of Cottonwood Hospital (established in 1963), which was demolished in 2007 when Intermountain Medical Center opened down the road from its campus. Once Cottonwood Hospital was torn down, TOSH expanded its facility in the available space and added a grass sports field used for athletic training. Intermountain Cottonwood Medical Clinic was later built as a stand-alone medical clinic on TOSH’s campus.

TOSH and its campus continue to evolve to better serve patients. In 2022, Intermountain Surgery Center – TOSH will open its doors to serve patients with orthopedic and spine care needs in an efficient, and cost effective, environment. The ambulatory surgical center will be located on TOSH’s campus.
