Childbirth Preparation Express
Please select either an IN-PERSON OR a VIRTUAL online class. If you would like to attend both, you would need to register for both classes. Price includes a support person.
This condensed class is a great refresher for experienced parents or for first-time parents who are short on time!
- This class is held once for a full day from 9:00 am - 5:30 pm and taught by a Registered Nurse.
MORNING
- Pregnancy: When to Call your Doctor, Safe Exercises, Common Discomforts, Nutrition
- Labor: Experience of Labor and Birth, When to Go to the Hospital, Birth Stories
- Interventions: Epidurals, Inductions, C-Sections, Birth Plans and Communication
- Coping: Relaxation, Massage, Positions, Breathing, and Labor Support
LUNCH BREAK (ON YOUR OWN)
AFTERNOON
- After Birth: New Baby Care, New Parent Care, When to Call Your Doctor
- Breastfeeding: Latch and Positions, Benefits of Breastfeeding, Common Concerns
Classes recommended to take with this class?
This is our most comprehensive condensed course. Those seeking a low-intervention birth can add on the Coping and Comfort Class OR Hypnosis for Birth Class.
Differences with express vs 6-week course.
This express class is 8 hours as opposed to 12 hours in the 6-week course. The topics are the same, however, several videos have been removed and there is less time for practice. The Breastfeeding portion is 1 hour instead of 2 hours and does not include pumping and storing breastmilk.
How will I receive my class materials?
- For virtual attendance, your hard copy class materials will be mailed about two weeks prior to the class start date to the address you provide when you register.
- You will also receive electronic materials at your registration email address.
