Partnering to advance healthcare discovery
Prospective research
We have a team of caregivers dedicated to observational studies, consenting participants, and collecting biospecimens and associated participant data. As part of the Intermountain system, we give your research access to enroll participants from many sites, including specialty clinics that support the vast majority of indications.
- Biospecimen collection includes blood, fresh tissue, saliva, and urine
- Blood collections: Plasma, Buffy coat and PBMC
- Fresh tissue collection
- Saliva collections
- Urine collections
- We enable both interventional and observational clinical trials (a non-interventional type of study where participants are observed in their natural clinical settings without altering treatment)
Retrospective services
We offer a diverse array of biospecimen types and imaging resources, such as:
- Residual Clinical FFPE Archive: Punches, slides, and scrollsT all tied to decades of clinical data
- General Lab EDTA Bank: Buffy coat samples from EDTA lab collections processed and banked after clinical needs have been met
- Oncology Blood Bank: Pre-treatment plasma and buffy coat samples collected using STRECK cell-free DNA containers for 17 different cancer types
- Digitized Pathology Slide Imaging: Over 6 million slide images (SVS and DICOM available), with 300,000 additional slides scanned monthly
- Tissue Microarray (TMA) and other advanced histological services
These offerings support a wide range of research projects by providing high-quality, reliable materials. The FFPE samples and tissue microarrays are particularly beneficial for detailed pathological, transcriptomics and mass cytometry studies.
Laboratory services
Our laboratory services team translates study protocols into compliant, auditable, and operational laboratory workflows that produce reliable scientific results.
- Clinical Trials: We support both sponsor initiated and investigator initiated clinical trials from planning to completion
- Safety Labs: We perform protocol specified safety testing to support clinical trial monitoring, including routine chemistry, hematology, and other required analytes.
- Sample Procurement: Manages the acquisition of prospective or remnant specimens under approved protocols for research, assay validation, and development
- Assay Development: We design and execute analytical validations for laboratory developed tests (LDTs) and verification studies for FDA cleared assay performing precision and accuracy studies, method comparisons, reportable range evaluations, and interference testing
- Studies & Evaluations: We operate as an independent testing environment that applies standardized test conditions, predefined criteria, and unbiased reporting.
- Quality Control Validations: Provides independent QC testing services for reagent and assay manufacturers.
