Feeding and Swallowing Consult Clinic

The Feeding and Swallowing Consult Clinic brings together an interdisciplinary team of specialists to offer a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s feeding and swallowing problems.

Currently, we offer an initial telehealth intake consultation to determine your child’s feeding problem and to help connect your child or family with the best services within Primary Children’s rehabilitative services.

Conditions for Evaluation

  • Oral aversion
  • Delay in feeding milestones
  • Feeding refusal
  • Dysphagia with unclear prognosis
  • Feeding tube dependence

Our Model

  • Because each child’s feeding needs are different, we use an interdisciplinary evaluation process to help guide options that will be beneficial to your child’s success.
  • This interdisciplinary team will work to coordinate diagnostic study plans.
  • A care coordinator will help set up any necessary follow up appointments.

Our Team

Our team consists of a pediatric gastroenterologist, nurse practitioner, speech therapist, dietitian, and a specialized nurse.

Getting a Telehealth Appointment

To get a telehealth appointment with our Nurse Practitioner, you must complete the online Feeding and Swallowing Intake Questionnaire. This questionnaire allows us to appropriately assess each patient and make sure they receive the care that is right for them.

How It Works

  1. First, call 801-662-1644. Our scheduler will email a link to access the online intake questionnaire.
  2. Once submitted, our Nurse Practitioner will review the information and reach out to you about scheduling.

Billing

Because this model is different and all-inclusive from a typical physician appointment, you will find your billing will be slightly different. Here’s what you can expect:
  • Please call our billing department at 801-387-7696 with any questions/concerns
  • Your child may be referred to a new or different provider after their consultation visit. This may not be included with the Feeding and Swallowing Center’s billable cares.
