PGY1 Pharmacy (Hospital-Based)

Intermountain Health offers several ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy residency programs:

  • Intermountain Medical Center (5 positions)
  • LDS Hospital (1 position plus the 1st year Medication-use Safety and Policy resident)
  • McKay-Dee Hospital (2 positions)
  • Primary Children's Hospital (2 positions)
  • St. George Regional Hospital (2 positions)
  • Utah Valley Hospital (4 positions)

PGY1 Community-Based

  • Intermountain Health, Enterprise-wide (2 positions) - not recruiting for the 2024-25 residency year

PGY1/PGY2 Medication-Use Safety and Policy

  • LDS Hospital / Intermountain Health Drug Information Center (1 position - 2 year commitment)

PGY2 Specialty

  • Ambulatory Care, Enterprise-wide (2 positions)
  • Cardiology, Intermountain Medical Center (1 position)
  • Critical Care, Intermountain Medical Center (1 position)
  • Emergency Medicine, Intermountain Medical Center (1 position)
  • Internal Medicine, Intermountain Medical Center (1 position - pre-candidate status)
  • Infectious Diseases, Enterprise-wide (1 position)
  • Pediatrics, Primary Children's Hospital (1 position)
  • Solid Organ Transplant, Intermountain Medical Center (1 position - candidate status)

Residents receive training in community-based care settings to conduct a successful patient-centered pharmacy practice in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

The combined PGY1/PGY2 medication-use safety and policy pharmacy residency at Intermountain Healthcare provides residents with 2 years of specialized training within a large, integrated health care delivery network.
