About the Class

Feeding a newborn is not as straightforward as it might sound and this prenatal class can illuminate the path for first-time parents who want to become a breastfeeding household. Expectant parents benefit from a detailed picture of the first day, the first week, and the first month of breastfeeding, and a review of what is normal and what is not...and when does reaching out for help make sense.

Topics include:

  • The fundamental science of breastfeeding & nutrition
  • Establishing and maintaining an abundant milk supply
  • How to latch and position baby at the breast
  • Skin-to-skin and reading your baby's signals
  • Expectations and emotional components of breastfeeding
  • Choosing the right breast pump and introducing a bottle

This class will help you get breastfeeding off to a good start and is designed to include both parents- partners are encouraged to attend!
