When a child you love is in the hospital, you may feel a wide range of emotions and want answers to many different questions.

Doctors, nurses, social workers, and others can help you answer the most immediate medical questions, but who will help you find the answers to the more soul-searching questions?

Primary Children’s spiritual care team is here to help you make sense of your child’s suffering and to offer you emotional and spiritual support as you try to find peace of mind. Our team consists of a chaplain and a group of interfaith spiritual care volunteers. These professionals are trained to help patients and families of all beliefs, including those who do not belong to any specific religion or who do not believe in God.

We offer a comforting presence and a listening ear for the things that matter most to you and your family. In addition, we can connect you with representatives of specific religious groups to provide the prayer, rituals, or sacraments your faith provides in times of trouble.

You can reach the hospital chaplain at (801) 662-3782 during the day. For help during evenings and weekends, call the Spiritual Care team pager at (801) 914-7948 and enter your phone number at the beep. Someone will return your call.

Meditation Room

Our meditation room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone in need of some meditation and prayer. It’s located at the north end of the Third Level of the hospital.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Branch

Our hospital is served by a branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A sacrament meeting is held every Sunday in the Auditorium located on the Third Level. The branch can also assist with priesthood blessings.

Other Religions

Community clergy of many other religions and faith traditions can be contacted through the chaplain’s office.
