For very advanced liver tumors, we use a highly specialized technique called the ALPPS procedure, which stands for Associating Liver Partition and Portal vein Ligation for Staged Hepatectomy. ALPPS enables the removal of advanced tumors in two steps by making use of the regenerative capability of the human liver in a short period.
