Led by trained chefs and a registered dietitian, this five-week class teaches you how to make healthy eating convenient and budget-friendly. This hands-on class will teach you meal planning, grocery shopping on a budget, knife skills, and cooking techniques to prepare delicious healthy meals.
During the first two weeks of class, a registered dietitian will lead you through strategies to plan healthy meals for your family, tips to modify your favorite recipes to make them healthier, and ways to stretch your food budget. You'll be able to put theory into action with a tour of a local grocery store during the third week of class. You'll learn why it's important to choose foods from the perimeter of the grocery store, how to find hidden sources of sugar on ingredient labels, and how to select fresh seasonal produce. Week four will teach you knife skills and tips for cooking meals in batches to save time later. The last week of class will include a practical application of everything you've learned--you'll work with a trained chef to cook (and eat) a complete nutritious meal in 30 minutes or less.
All class and program fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
