"We'll celebrate the work you do."

—Katy Welkie, Vice President, Intermountain Children’s Health; CEO, Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital

I am thrilled to announce the inaugural Children's Health caregiver newsletter. Dustin Lipson and Lisa Paletta, our Primary Children’s Hospital administrators, share my excitement in seeing this come to fruition.

We’ll use this recurring publication to provide you with important information, but more importantly, we'll celebrate the work you do. I delight in the incredible work that is done every single day in our clinics and our hospitals and I want each of you to have that same opportunity. I want you to hear what your colleagues are doing and feel that same sense of pride.

Not only do I need you to read these stories and hopefully find great joy in them, I need you to engage.

  • When you hear a story or think of something your colleagues and caregivers should know, I want you to click on the buttons at the bottom of this newsletter email and share those details with our marketing and communications teammates. This will help ensure this publication tells the stories of all our caregivers.
  • Share these stories with your colleagues, friends, and families. Be proud—be incredibly proud—of the place you work and the good things that happen here every day.
  • Give us feedback. This is your newsletter, and we want to make sure it works for you. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or needs, send us an email at PediatricNews@imail.org

I hope you all saw the message from Rob Allen, Intermountain Health president and CEO, in Caregiver Brief: Our colleagues are solving challenges, simplifying the work, building opportunities. Some wonderful examples of his vision are happening right here at Primary Children's. Let’s all think about how we can improve the experience for our fellow caregivers because that's what's going to lead to the best care for our patients.

I encourage all of you to complete your caregiver experience surveys, which will arrive in your inboxes in a few weeks. It’s a shorter survey this time; it’ll only take about 10 minutes to complete. But it will give us a great pulse on how we're doing and what we need to improve at a department level to make sure that we’re hearing you, seeing you, and understanding your needs. We would love to continue our high participation rate at all Primary Children's locations.

I hope we can feel like a community through this newsletter and celebrate the amazing work that’s done by all our many caregivers every single day. It takes every one of us to create the extraordinary environment and care that happens at Primary Children's.

Thank you for all you do to keep the Child First and Always!
