“I always believed this honor was truly within our reach.”

—Angie Scartezina, MSN, RN, CENP Chief Nursing Officer, Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital

It is with great pleasure I announce that Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital has been recognized as a Magnet facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

We are now numbered among only 9% of hospitals nationwide who have achieved this designation. This is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of every staff member to providing outstanding care to every patient, every day.

In a call yesterday, the Magnet Commission designated Primary Children’s as a Magnet hospital. In their congratulations, they emphasized the extraordinary, highly educated caregivers who work here, the remarkable patient outcomes we achieve, and our compassion for our patients.

It was apparent to ANCC appraisers that our culture embraces enthusiasm for excellence in patient care, professional growth, and staff support. It is the small acts each day that create a Magnet culture—the things each of you do every time you enter Primary Children’s Hospital.

As Primary Children’s nurse administrator, it has been a privilege to lead this amazing nursing team on our journey to achieve Magnet designation over the past three years. I always believed this honor was truly within our reach because I know our nurses are among the most skilled, empowered, and supportive nurses in the profession. Now as a Magnet organization, we will continue the work of providing the highest level of nursing care to our patients and families in putting “The Child First and Always.”
