Travis Mickelson, MD, named AMD for Mental Health Integration (MHI)

Travis Mickelson

The Behavioral Health Clinical Program recently named Travis Mickelson, MD as the new associate medical director for Mental Health Integration (MHI). Dr. Mickelson has shown outstanding leadership while working at Primary Children’s Hospital as well as within the MHI program for Intermountain. He reports to Mark Foote, MD, senior medical director. 
 
In his new position, Dr. Mickelson will work to integrate the MHI program in every primary care clinic throughout the Intermountain system. His goal is to improve both the health of Intermountain patients, as well as the engagement and satisfaction of Intermountain primary care providers.

Dr. Mickelson graduated from the University of Utah Medical School. Upon graduation, Dr. Mickelson completed his psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Utah.
 
Growing up in Northern Utah, Dr. Mickelson spent the summer waterskiing and cycling and the winter snow skiing and snowboarding. He is also an accomplished musician, playing electric bass and upright bass in a band that his daughter calls “Dad Rock”.
