Chris Hyer, executive director for APPs announces another group of APP directors as we round the corner and head into the home stretch of filling the director roles in our new APP structure. These directors are currently acting in their new roles:
Jeff Goss, MSN, FNP-C: APP director, Heart Failure
Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Weber State University and he graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing from Brigham Young University as a family nurse practitioner in 2007. Prior to joining the Heart Failure/Transplant team at Intermountain Medical Center in 2014 Jeff worked in a few vascular surgery and family practice locations.
Renee Marlette, MSN, FNP-BC: APP director, Pediatric Same Day Surgery
An Intermountain nurse for more than 30 years, Renee earned associate’s and bachelor’s nursing degrees from BYU and her family nurse practitioner, Master of Science degree in Nursing from Westminster College. She worked as clinical educator and then FNP in Hematology/Oncology at Primary Children’s Hospital. The last five years she pioneered the APP team lead role in Primary Children’s Same Day Surgery.
Max Mitchell, FNP-C: APP director, Wound Care and Hyperbarics
Max has been working for Intermountain in the Wound Care and Hyperbarics Clinic at Intermountain Medical Center as a nurse practitioner for four years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree from Brigham Young University. Previously, he worked as an RN for 12 years in various fields including rehab, home health, wound care and psychology.
Jennifer Newman, ACNP – BC: APP director, Emergency Medicine
Jen started her nursing career with Intermountain in 2006. She earned her bachelor’s in nursing from the U of U where she also completed her doctor of nursing practice in Acute Care. She has worked in the Emergency Department at Intermountain Medical Center, and since 2013 has been the lead APP for Utah Emergency Physicians (UEP) at Intermountain’s various emergency departments. As part of her doctorate thesis, Jen developed APP practice guidelines for UEP.
