Going Back to Basics

with operational training opportunities

Going Back to Basics

New and tenured managers in the Medical Group are expected to deliver on a multitude of initiatives and responsibilities. This requires the know-how to generate complex data reports (Press Ganey, Strata etc.) in addition to strong cultural, policy and protocol awareness.

To this end, the Medical Group leadership is developing a Back-to-Basics (B2B) training initiative for our new and tenured operational leaders. This includes both optional and required training with periodic refreshers (where needed) and on-demand access to updated materials. We are developing the B2B work with emphasis on the following:

  1. Quality, meaningfulness, and effectiveness of training
  2. Trainee experience and ability to follow up
  3. Tracking to assess impact and drive continuous improvement

Once implemented, leaders will have a schedule of required and optional trainings. Many of these trainings will be offered in a hybrid format to include both in-person and online attendance. Materials will be made available on demand by accessing the Medical Group site of Intermountain.net. This initiative will also be integrated into the Leader Standard Work once it is launched. Senior Practice Directors will keep track of completions.

Our first topic covered will be on LTR - Press Ganey Reports. This hands-on training will show managers how to set up reports and utilize Narrative DX, as well as other basic Press Ganey tasks. The training will be offered as a pilot to learn from your experience.

The dates for the pilot and a full launch will be communicated through the Medical Group Brief, Lead Informed, and your Senior Practice Directors.

We look forward to working with you and learning from you as we progress on this exciting project!
