Intermountain named a best employer for women by Forbes

WomenLeaders

Intermountain has been named to Forbes’ 2020 America’s Best Employers for Women list this week. Now in its third year, the list recognizes national companies pursuing gender parity through policies, practices, and representation.

Earlier this year, Forbes asked 75,000 employees — 45,000 women — from 10,000 American companies to share their opinions about things like their employer’s culture, opportunities for career development, image, working conditions, and diversity. Responses were combined with analysis of industry reputation and female representation on executive and governance teams to create a composite score, with the top 300 performing companies—representing the top 3 percent nationally— included in the publication.

Intermountain ranked number 122 overall, excelling in share of women in positions of leadership and direct recommendations from surveyed employees — the top 5 percent and top 20 percent of all honorees, respectively. The system is one of five companies from Utah included in the roundup and is the only local healthcare provider. Intermountain ranked 16th of 23 national honorees included in the Healthcare & Social category. No companies from Nevada or Idaho were included in the list.
