Get help meeting your 2021 wellness goals with these resources

Wellness BN

If your New Year's resolutions include being more physically active or improving your health in 2021, Intermountain can help. There are a wide variety of wellness-related resources and discounts available just for caregivers. As you focus on your health, remember to follow COVID-19 social distancing and mask wearing guidelines. Here are details about a few of the many resources available:

  • Participate in a race sponsored by Intermountain. Caregivers can often get discounts to these activities. The next opportunity is the Raiders Way Virtual 5K on January 30 and 31. Intermountain and SelectHealth caregivers can get $5 off registration with coupon code Intermountain5. Proceeds will go to the Raiders Foundation, which supports community and civic health. Learn more and register. Other opportunities will be added to the Get Involved page throughout the year.
  • Get a discounted membership to VASA Fitness for you and your immediate family members. The Intermountain discount rate is a flat $15 monthly fee (plus tax) without any additional fees and includes access to VASA Fitness centers across Utah. Childcare is available for an additional fee. For more information and to sign up, visit the Offsite Fitness Facilities website.
  • Some other gyms also offer discounted memberships for Intermountain caregivers. For example, Basin Recreation in Park City is offering Intermountain caregivers a 10 percent discount on memberships passes at its Fieldhouse facility. Just show your ID badge at the front desk to get the discount. If you sign up in January, you can get an additional 20 percent off a new membership. Find more opportunities on the Caregiver Discounts website.
  • Many facilities have designated indoor and outdoor walking paths to make it easier for caregivers to take a walk at work. You can find walking path maps on the LiVe Well website. Please note some of the paths may have changed due to renovations or construction. If your facility doesn't have a walking path, you can still walk the halls, take the stairs, or park farther away in the parking lot to get some extra steps.
  • Join a Virgin Pulse challenge. While participating in a Virgin Pulse step challenge isn’t a required LiVe Well activity this year, it’s a great way to intentionally focus on your health while earning a $20 LiVe Well reward. Review this year’s Virgin Pulse challenges and how to sync your device.
  • Attend a LiVe Well workshop. LiVe Well workshops range in topics from physical health to emotional health. You can also earn your $20 LiVe Well dollars by attending. Learn more.
  • Participate in an online TOSH Pilates class. Check the Pilates webpage for registration information and monthly class schedules. They also have a series of free YouTube videos
  • Intermountain’s Live Well Centers offer a variety of services to help you improve your health, such as nutrition counseling, exercise classes, and wellness webinars. Many services include a discount for caregivers. SelectHealth covers five free visits with a registered dietitian every year for qualified people.
  • Get help preventing type 2 diabetes with Omada Health, an online program that combines the latest technology with active, ongoing support. Visit the Omada website to see if you’re at risk for prediabetes as well as to get started with Omada Health. Learn more about other diabetes prevention programs available to caregivers.
