Caregivers experiencing food insecurity can now receive a food box from Intermountain

Intermountain Food Box sized for caregiver news
Caregivers in need can now benefit from the Intermountain Food Box program.

Intermountain has launched a new program to support caregivers and their families experiencing food insecurity. The Intermountain Food Box program is anonymous and offers temporary emergency assistance to help caregivers until a stable source of food is established. Boxes are funded by the Caregiver Assistance Fund using money donated by community members and caregivers, sourced from Associated Food Stores, and contain foods hand-picked by Intermountain dietitians.

“Caring for our patients and communities—physically, mentally, and emotionally—starts first with caring for our own caregivers,” says Heather Brace, senior vice president and chief people officer. “The COVID-19 pandemic has caused economic and emotional hardships for many people, and during this time of turmoil, Intermountain is taking steps to make sure every caregiver is cared for and has access to essential needs—including food.”

If you need assistance—food, money, or otherwise—please contact Ask HR at 801-442-7547 to begin the assessment process. You can help support caregivers in need by donating to the Caregiver Assistance Fund.
