To meet changing consumer demands, six InstaCare clinics will close, one will open, and one KidsCare will relocate

After careful evaluation of changing consumer behaviors, the Intermountain Medical Group is making changes to position our organization to meet consumers where they are now and where they’re headed.

InstaCare

The following changes will help us better meet consumer demands, sustain operations, and ensure the appropriate level of urgent care staffing throughout our clinics:

The Intermountain clinics located in the same building as the affected InstaCares will remain open for appointment-based care, with the exception of the Tooele location. I Intermountain will continue to operate 25 InstaCare locations and five KidsCare locations, so patients will still be able to access nearby InstaCare locations as well as Connect Care when virtual care is appropriate.

All impacted caregivers and non-PRN physicians will be offered an employment opportunity within the Medical Group or Intermountain. The Medical Group has many opportunities in a variety of positions available across the system. Human Resources partners will support these caregivers to identify available positions that complement experience and training and offer continued employment.

“We need each of our caregivers, and we need our InstaCares,” says Tony Wallin, MD, urgent care medical director for the Intermountain Medical Group. “We also need to be good stewards of our resources and flex our services to meet the needs and preferences of the communities we serve. Although, we’re closing some of our sites, we’ll work together with every impacted individual to help find a new, similar role in our organization.”
