Housing grant will help caregivers become first-time homeowners in Utah

Housing BN

Intermountain is helping caregivers become first-time homeowners in Utah thanks to a grant secured by our longtime community partner Goldenwest Credit Union. If you’re a first-time homebuyer in Utah and meet other eligibility criteria, you can apply to receive $8,000 in down-payment assistance. Up to 44 applicants who meet the qualifications will be randomly selected to receive this down-payment assistance, and grant funds will be paid directly to a title company at closing.

“Owning a home can provide caregivers and their families with security and peace of mind,” says Dave Adams, assistant vice president of total rewards. “Coming up with the money to purchase a home isn’t always easy and this program, supported by our partnership with Goldenwest Credit Union, will make owning a home a little bit simpler for a number of our caregivers. I’m proud to work with great partners to help our caregivers live their best lives possible.”

Emily Stirling, chairperson of the financial wellness committee, adds, “We’re so excited that Goldenwest Credit Union has entrusted Intermountain with this housing grant. This will be a total gamechanger for those families.”

The application window is from Wednesday, September 1 to Thursday, September 30, and all caregivers who may qualify are encouraged to apply here.

A few of the qualifications include:

  • Be employed by Intermountain in good standing for at least 12 months
  • Be a first-time homebuyer purchasing property in Utah in 2021
  • Have a combined pre-tax household income of $74,320 or less in 2020
