You’re invited to share your voice by participating in this year’s caregiver experience survey. The survey, administered by Press Ganey, will run Thursday, September 30, through Thursday, October 21. It measures caregiver engagement, team experience, culture of safety, caregiver well-being, and, for RNs, nurse excellence. You’ll receive an email from Press Ganey on September 30 with a unique link to the survey.

“On behalf of the Executive Leadership Team, I’d like to express our appreciation for your commitment and effort to improve engagement and caregiver experience,” says Heather Brace, senior vice president and chief people officer. “We’re a team of more than 41,000 people with diverse backgrounds and unique experiences. It takes all of us to shape the experience that each caregiver has at Intermountain. Your voices are critical to help advance our mission, create a thriving workplace, and drive excellence in patient experience and outcomes.”

Fast facts about the 2021 caregiver experience survey:

  • It will take 15-20 minutes to complete.
  • All caregivers hired prior to June 28 will receive a unique link to take the survey.
  • For the first time it will be offered in both English and Spanish.
  • Survey results are confidential—no personal identifiers are included in the results.

Your leader will share results of the survey with you in November. Based on the results, you and your team will work with your leader to create an action plan on items you want to see changed or improved.

The caregiver experience survey is one of the methods Intermountain uses to gather caregiver feedback. Other methods include pulse surveys, rounding, huddles, and comments on Yammer. Here are some things leaders have worked on or implemented this year based on feedback from last year’s survey and ongoing pulse surveys:

“We know 2021 has continued to be a challenging year for each of us,” Heather says. “Caregivers and leaders in all capacities have continued to step up to the plate, with creativity, determination, grit, and resilience. We always see you, we hear you, and more importantly, we’re listening. We look forward to seeing where we are compared to a year ago, and we hope to gain even more insight into what’s going well and where we can work to improve.”
