Halloween costume pointers

halloween 2018

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind if you’re planning to wear a costume to work:

  • You’re invited to wear your costume on Friday, October 29, Saturday, October 30, or Sunday, October 31, depending on when and where you work. Check with your manager to see if you can wear a costume in your department.
  • Avoid wearing anything that might interfere with your work or create safety hazards, including flowing costumes that might get caught in equipment or slippery shoes.
  • Don’t wear a costume that’s inappropriate, offensive, insensitive, bloody, or gruesome. And don’t wear a mask that covers your whole face. If you have a question about whether your costume is appropriate, please bring a change of clothes. (If you don’t, you may have to go home and change.)
  • You can wear holiday-specific scrubs for up to seven days before the holiday, ending on Halloween.
  • Make sure your name badge is part of your costume.
