Appointments are available this week at Intermountain’s caregiver COVID-19 vaccine clinics. These clinics are only for caregivers who are either eligible to receive the third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine or who haven’t received the COVID-19 vaccine yet (first or second dose). Appointments are strongly recommended, but walk-ins will be accommodated.

Employee Health at Intermountain Medical Center will administer both flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines at the caregiver clinic on Thursday, October 21.

“This is a trial run to see if we can combine flu shot clinics and COVID-19 vaccine clinics at other locations,” says Suzy Winsor, Employee Health nursing process manager. “If you signed up for a flu shot appointment for this clinic, you can get your COVID-19 vaccine while you’re there, or, if you sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine, you can get your flu shot too. We’ll let caregivers know if we can combine more clinics in the future.”

To view COVID-19 vaccine appointment availability, visit the Caregiver COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic page. This page will be updated daily with vaccine appointment availability, so check back often if you receive a message for your chosen clinic that says, “We aren't offering services through the booking page right now.” Clinics are being offered at Alta View Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, LDS Hospital, Logan Regional Hospital, McKay-Dee Hospital, St. George Regional Hospital, and Utah Valley Hospital.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved a half-dose booster vaccine of Moderna for the same eligible audiences as the Pfizer-BioNTech booster. Once approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Moderna booster shots will be offered at caregiver vaccine clinics as well. The FDA has also recommended a booster shot for the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, but Intermountain hasn’t offered that vaccine to caregivers and the booster shot won’t be provided at caregiver clinics. The J&J vaccine booster will be offered in Medical Group clinics.
