Garfield Memorial Hospital has earned national awards for three years in a row from Press Ganey. The hospital received three awards for 2021:
- The Guardian of Excellence Award for the Emergency Room, which honors the facility for top performance in patient satisfaction in the emergency department.
- The Pinnacle of Excellence Award in Patient Experience for the Emergency Room.
- The Pinnacle of Excellence Award in Patient Experience with Outpatient Services.
“Our ER has received the Guardian Award for three years straight now, and this particular award is given to an organization when ranking in the 95th percentile in customer service for three years in a row,” says Alberto Vasquez, Garfield Memorial administrator. “The Pinnacle Award is given to a hospital in the top four in the nation for that category, and our emergency room was ranked as one of the top four in the nation for our size. Our outpatient services, which includes lab and imaging, received the Pinnacle Award for the second year in a row.”
“To have received multiple awards these last three years was truly special and meaningful, but to also receive them during all of the challenges and changes with the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s extremely rewarding,” says Nurse Administrator Deann Brown, RN. “This is a huge attribute to every single person that works here. It’s often been said that our hospital is truly special, and it really is. Our workers care about patients personally, and it’s gratifying when national healthcare quality organizations see that.”
Lab manager Cade Harland, says, “It’s wonderful to be part of such an amazing team that puts our patients as their top priority. My hope is that we can provide this same extraordinary experience for every patient, every time they come to our facility.”
