Intermountain has been named a 2021 Workday Healthcare Innovation Award winner. The annual Workday Healthcare Innovation Awards recognize organizations that embrace the spirit of innovation and work to advance, enhance, and influence work. Led by Mike Harmer, assistant vice president of workforce optimization, and the Human Resources Workforce Optimization Team, Intermountain was recognized for work that’s been done to digitally transform the HR partner experience by increasing self-service analytics capabilities through the use of Workday People Analytics, discovery boards, slides, worksheets and benchmarks, and upskilling the team on how to leverage the insights available.

“Pressures of the pandemic have accelerated our digital transformation initiatives across the company,” says Mike. “This award is a great recognition of our caregivers’ forward-thinking strategies and ongoing commitment to do the best we can for the people we serve internally. It’s exciting to see Intermountain selected from such an impressive group of peers.”

With these new skills, the HR team is able to better develop and support the workforce of the future, which is part of a multi-year goal. Read more about other Workday winners.

Many areas are developing “Team of the Future” models to expedite the integration of digital capabilities in their services and processes, and to help caregivers learn how do this work, says Mike.

“Leaders are developing future-looking workforce plans that include analytics, digital leadership, and automation as a way to improve efficiency and increase quality. I encourage any leaders or caregivers interested in this work to reach out to our team or the HRBP Hub to get involved.”
