Intermountain’s December Monthly Performance dashboard is now available. This final monthly dashboard of 2021 shows Intermountain’s year-end overall attainment score for the 11 Board-reported key performance indicators (KPIs) at 126%. This is a 12% increase over the final achievement score for 2020 and is a reflection of the hard work every caregiver and leader put in throughout 2021 on behalf of our organization, our patients, and fellow caregivers.

“We achieved our target or stretch goals on 10 of the 11 KPIs,” says Rob Allen, chief operating officer. “As an organization, we have a lot to be proud of. We’re delivering on our promise to help lower the cost of healthcare for the people and communities we serve. Teams are working to enhance the caregiver experience through engagement techniques, safety, and equity. We’ve seen measurable and notable improvement in the quality and safety of care delivered. It’s required our collective ideas and a lot of hard work to meet these goals. Thank you for your dedication and for everything you do for the people we serve.”

As a result of the 126% attainment score, pending approval from the Intermountain Board on March 18, caregivers will receive the following incentive payments:

  • Full-time caregivers who average 30 hours or more a week will receive $567
  • Part-time caregivers who average less than 30 hours will receive $283.50

These amounts are higher than caregivers previously received with the former thank-you payments. For example, for the last thank you payment, caregivers received $450, $300, or $150, depending on how many hours they worked.

To receive the caregiver incentive plan payment, caregivers must:

  1. Not be eligible for a leader incentive and;
  2. Work full-time, part-time, per diem, or PRN and;
  3. Be hired before October 1, 2021 and;
  4. Work at least 100 hours by year end and;
  5. Be currently employed at time of payout in the spring.

After the final attainment score is approved by the Board, caregivers will receive the incentive payment on April 8 (pay period 7).

“This is the first year we had a true incentive program for caregivers that's based on the performance of the organization. Thanks to all of you, things look better than it has ever been,” says Marc Harrison, MD, Intermountain’s president and CEO. “While the money is important, it’s symbolic of everyone’s contribution to the success of the organization.”
