The new Utah Valley Hospital was selected for the 2022 Vista Award in the category of New Construction.

Sponsored by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA), the Vista Awards Program recognizes significant collaboration in creating optimal healthcare environments.

“Each winning team has exemplified outstanding teamwork in all stages of their respective healthcare projects, from preplanning to the final reveal,” according to the awards committee.

Utah Valley Hospital’s replacement project began in 2015 and included replacing the aging hospital building with a new seismically sound facility built in the same location. The new building helped improve patient care by using evidence based-design concepts that support better treatment outcomes. Complimentary services lines were also relocated within the hospital to improve efficiency. The project helps Utah Valley meet the current and future healthcare needs of Utah County, one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States.

“We’re honored to have been selected as the recipient of the ASHE Vista award,” says Josh Rohatinsky, administrative director at Utah Valley. “The award represents the dedicated efforts of our partners in Design and Construction, as well as the architects and contractors who worked tirelessly for years to coordinate the efforts to make this project a reality. It also represents the impact of the collaboration and input we received from our local leaders and frontline caregivers all throughout the design and construction process. Their expertise and their passion for creating a world-class healthcare environment for both our caregivers and our patients is what made this possible.”

Representatives from the hospital replacement project team were honored during the ASHE 2022 Planning, Design, and Construction Summit in New Orleans on March 22.
