April's KPI dashboard shows another increase.

Intermountain’s Monthly Performance Dashboard for April is now available and shows our overall system attainment as of April 30 is 57%. This represents a 7% increase over last month’s score of 50%. Focus on return to green plans continues to happen around the organization as we collectively work toward achieving 2022 strategic priorities.

The dashboard measures our overall progress to attaining the nine board-reported Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) each month, which influences the 2022 caregiver incentive plan.

In April, the caregiver safety KPI performance remained above our stretch goal for the fourth month in a row. We also improved over the previous month’s performance and reached stretch targets for the achieve smart growth KPI. And, for the first reporting month, the SelectHealth affordability KPI was measured at stretch.

“Our slow and steady month-to-month improvement in the overall attainment score is a direct result of the work you do every day to enhance patient and member experiences, stay safe at work, and commit to initiatives to help us drive progress,” says Rob Allen, chief operating officer. “Keep up the great work.”

Below are several actions to help influence KPI progress. You can find more in the Get to Know Our 2022 KPIs guide. During an upcoming Check-In or team meeting, talk to your leader about which actions resonate with you and how you can implement them in your day-to-day workRemember, actions you take every day toward achieving your team and department goals influences system progress.

  • Quality of patient outcomes KPI: Intermountain’s Safety and Quality Nursing Council is leading out on process improvement activities focused on hospital acquired infections and quality improvement with local teams. Please continue to share high reliability care delivery experiences in team huddles and discuss how you can make a difference in patients’ lives each day.
  • Likelihood to recommend KPI: While we are seeing significant success in patient experience scores in some areas of the organization, our greatest areas of opportunity are focused on providing improved access for our patients, ensuring the billing process is smooth and easy, and better care coordination for our patients. In an upcoming team huddle, take an opportunity to review Intermountain’s Compassionate Connections program. Discuss how through the two principles, caring and learning, you can work to enhance our patients’ experience—one moment at a time.
  • Ease of scheduling Medical Group appointments KPI: We remain relatively flat with our patient survey results focused on ease of scheduling Medical Group appointments. Visiting one of our clinics should be easy and readily accessible. How can you and your team positively impact and improve access for our patients?
  • Caregiver team engagement KPI: Thank you to those of you who participated in the Caregiver Experience Pulse Survey, May 5 – 19. We look forward to sharing the results with you in a few weeks and to celebrating Caregiver Appreciation Week with you next week.

The update to the Intermountain.net platform now shows the monthly KPI dashboard directly on the homepage. This is a great way to track our month-to-month progress and keep our KPI work front of mind. When you click on the image, it will take you to a website to learn more information.
