By David Prince

Canyons Region caregivers interested in becoming a surgical tech are invited to apply to one of Intermountain’s partnership programs with Mountainland Technical College in Lehi and Davis Technical College in Kaysville. Application deadlines are quickly approaching. These programs are open to benefits-eligible caregivers in good standing. Interested caregivers will undergo a selection process to be considered.

 Here are the programs:

  • Mountainland Technical College: Apply in Workday by July 1. The program is 12 months, with classes beginning August 23. In addition to completing the Workday application, caregivers must meet Mountainland Surgical Tech program requirements by completing their application requirements by July 8.

Davis Technical College: Apply in Workday by July 20. The program is 16 months, with classes beginning September 21. In addition to completing the Workday application, caregivers must meet Davis Technical College’s Surgical Tech requirements, which include taking assessments and submitting a separate application to the Davis program by July 22.

  • If selected for the program, Intermountain will cover the cost of tuition and program fees. Students will be responsible for textbooks and all other costs. Upon program completion, caregivers will work in the Surgical Tech role in an Intermountain facility.
