Deadlines approaching for two free training programs in the Canyons Region

Caregivers interested in becoming a nurse or central processing tech in the Canyons Region are invited apply to one of Intermountain’s partnership programs with a local college. Application deadlines are quickly approaching. These programs are open to benefits-eligible caregivers in good standing. Interested caregivers will undergo a selection process to be considered.

Here are the programs:

  • RN training program: Apply in Workday by September 15. This program is for caregivers who would like to become a nurse. The program sponsored by Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), located at SLCC’s West Jordan campus. The program is two years (four semesters), with classes beginning in January 2023. Intermountain selects 20 caregivers for the program every spring and fall semester.
  • Central Processing Tech training program: Apply in Workday by October 1. This program is for caregivers who would like to become a central processing technician. The program is sponsored by Mountainland Technical College, located in Lehi. The program is seven months, with classes beginning in October 2022. Morning or afternoon classes are available, depending on your schedule. Intermountain selects  five caregivers for the program each semester.

If selected for either program, Intermountain will cover the cost of tuition and program fees. Students will be responsible for textbooks and all other costs.
