Open Enrollment is just around the corner; join the Virtual Benefits Fair starting Oct. 24 to prepare

Open Enrollment sized for Sitecore
Open enrollment begins November 2.

Open Enrollment is November 2 - 16. Open enrollment is the only time of year you can make changes to your benefits outside of a qualifying life event. This year is the first step of a multi-year journey to harmonize benefits for all caregivers across Intermountain.

“At Intermountain Healthcare, you play a vital role in advancing our mission to help people live their healthiest lives,” says Susan Schaub, vice president of total rewards. “We’re also equally passionate about helping you and your loved ones live healthy lives. Our team has worked hard to continue to bring you a comprehensive benefits package that aligns to benchmarks, all while focusing on what matters most — caregiver choice.”

Starting Monday, October 24, you can log into the Intermountain Virtual Benefits Fair to preview changes you’ll see during this year’s Open Enrollment. Here are a couple of benefit changes and enhancements for 2023 you should be aware of:

  • Medical plan premiums are increasing. Caregivers in the Canyons Region and southern Utah may see an increase to their medical plan premiums, especially for coverage tiers that include dependents. Through our self-funded plan administered by SelectHealth, legacy Intermountain has historically covered a greater percentage of the cost for caregivers’ medical plan benefits than others in our industry, particularly for dependent coverage. This difference was confirmed through a recent rigorous analysis of benchmarking data for 61 other similar hospital systems across the nation like HCA Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White Health, and Sanford Health. Intermountain will continue to align benefits to benchmark data to provide caregivers with consistent and sustainable offerings, while factoring in rising medical plan costs.
  • In response to increased medical premiums, we’re launching the Medical Premium Assistance program. Intermountain leaders recognize the impact increased medical plan premiums may have on caregivers, especially those with lower hourly rates or who are the sole household income earner for their family. Because of this, Intermountain is launching the Medical Premium Assistance (MPA) program in the Canyons Region and in southern Utah. Eligible full-time caregivers who meet the income thresholds, apply, and are accepted into the program will receive a 75% discount for the Intermountain medical plan of their choice.
  • Vision plans are harmonized. The vision plans offered through EyeMed will be the same for all caregivers across the three regions, which now includes a choice of two vision plan options.
  • Dental plans are more closely aligned. While we’ll continue to have three different vendors across our organization next year, all caregivers will pay the same premium amounts for the base plan option or the buy-up option, depending on the coverage you elect. The deductibles have also been lowered, going to $25 per individual and $50 per family (from $50 and $150 respectively).
  • We’re adding another week of parental leave. Parental leave is now five weeks of 100% income replacement, paid by Intermountain. Parental leave is only available in the Canyons and Desert regions at this time.
