Mike Woodruff, MD, will be leaving Intermountain this month.

Dr. Woodruff, who is now serving as Intermountain’s chief patient experience officer, joined Intermountain in 2007 as an emergency physician with Utah Emergency Physicians, working at LDS Hospital and Cottonwood Medical Center. That same year, he had the privilege of helping open Intermountain Medical Center’s Emergency Department.

He’s held progressive leadership roles in patient safety, quality, and patient experience over the past 15 years, helping lead the build and deployment of iCentra for our Emergency Departments and then helping to lead the growth of a human-centered culture of caring and learning that has produced a 60% reduction in avoidable patient harm across the enterprise, as well as significant improvements in quality outcomes, patient experience, and equitable care.

“I believe in Intermountain’s mission,” says Dr. Woodruff. “I have every confidence that you’ll continue to put people first and to innovate to support our caregivers and improve the health of everyone we serve.”

Dr. Woodruff’s last day with Intermountain will be Nov. 15.

“I’d like to thank Mike for his leadership and commitment to our safety and quality culture,” said Canyons Region President Sue Robel, RN. “His dedicated efforts made a tremendous difference for our patients and caregivers.”
