Employee Health has launched a new online injury reporting system.

Employee Health has launched an online injury reporting system called Workplace Injury Tracking (WITS), to improve the reporting and tracking of caregiver injuries.

“We’re excited to offer this new system,” says Sharon Long, Employee Health director. “We anticipate WITS will increase the number of incidents reported, improve tracking, legibility, and confidentiality of reports, decrease the number of missing injury reports, and improve time for care. It also streamlines all other processes into one.”

Injury reports submitted through WITS will be triaged daily by the Employee Health team, with after-hours and weekend support available as well. While local Employee Health nurses will always be notified about injuries at their facility, if they’re unavailable when the report is received, another Employee Health nurse will reach out to the person who submitted the report for next steps. If the injury is an emergency, please seek care before submitting a report.

Some highlights of the platform:

  • A leader or a caregiver can complete an online injury report. The caregiver will receive an email when an injury report is created by or on behalf of them.
  • Demographic information for the caregiver submitting the report will automatically populate the form.
  • If you accidentally delete the confirmation email about an injury report, you can log in to WITS and see your claim(s).
  • Information will be safe and secure. You must be connected to the Intermountain network (on a facility computer or using Ping ID) to access WITS. It works best on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, and it’s not mobile responsive.
  • While the current iteration of the system doesn’t have a “save” option or the ability to edit after submission, Employee Health can quickly edit the report and add more information after submission.

The WITS system is only available to caregivers and leaders in the Canyons and Desert regions. The Peaks Region has an electronic injury reporting system called Enterprise Health.

“The WITS system is just one more tool in our toolbox,” Sharon says. “If a caregiver is injured at work, our goal is to ensure that person receives the appropriate treatment, at the appropriate time, by the appropriate provider, in the most caring, efficient way. This helps us do that.”

If you have any questions about WITS, please contact Employee Health by calling 801-442-6767 or emailing ehservices@imail.org.

The new WITS system is the fourth innovation Employee Health has released this year to help better support caregivers. Here’s a reminder of other Employee Health changes:

The caregiver Employee Health portal allows you to see all of your immunizations in one location.

In response to caregiver feedback, there’s now a caregiver Employee Health portal. This is a very similar portal to what was used to verify data for the COVID-19 vaccine requirement for legacy Intermountain caregivers. The portal allows you to view required immunizations for your role and due dates, apply for an exemption if needed, and find your immunization documentation. Documentation for required vaccines like the flu shot can be uploaded in the portal to meet requirements instead of sending information via email or bringing it to your local Employee Health nurse. And, if you need immunization documentation for travel or medical purposes, you can access it in the portal.

Click to access the portal. You must be connected to the Intermountain network (on a facility computer or using Ping ID) to access the portal. It works best on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, and it’s not mobile responsive.

Employee Health has one centralized phone number for everything.

There’s one centralized number you can call to access an Employee Health nurse anytime, any day, from anywhere. If ever an Employee Health nurse isn’t available onsite, the phone line can connect you with a nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is the same phone number that should also be used to ask questions, report serious injuries, and after-hours emergencies. To contact Employee Health, call 801-442-6767.

Employee Health notifications are 100% automated.

When there’s an upcoming due date for a required immunization, the caregiver Employee Health portal will automatically send you and your leader a reminder email about your immunization record, your status (compliant or non-compliant), and how to take next steps. These emails will continue to be sent two weeks prior, one week prior, and five days prior to the due date until you have met the vaccine requirement.
