New Executive Director for Utah Valley Healthcare Foundation

Provo - The Board of the Utah Valley Healthcare Foundation is pleased to announce that veteran Utah fundraiser Joseph Hansen has been named executive director of the Foundation and has assumed the lead role in directing philanthropic activities for Intermountain Healthcare in Utah County.

The appointment was made as the Foundation gears up for a major capital campaign over the next five years to raise funds for a heart center at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and a significant expansion of American Fork Hospital.

Hansen, who has worked as a fund-raising consultant with San Francisco-based Greenwood Company, has had a long track record of running healthcare capital campaigns.

Before joining Greenwood, Hansen, who was director of the McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation in Ogden, led the effort to raise nearly $16 million dollars for the new hospital that opened in 2002. He also supervised campaigns for other Intermountain hospitals including Valley View Hospital in Cedar City and Logan Regional Hospital.

“Joey is a seasoned fundraiser and will bring much expertise to our organization as we look to the community for new levels of philanthropic support of our hospitals,” said David Clark, region vice president of Intermountain Healthcare and member of the Foundation board. “Our Foundation has a strong legacy of working with our community and supporting our hospitals. Also, I want to thank our current staff, all of whom will remain a vital part of the fund-raising team going forward.”

Hansen earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and holds an MPA degree from the University of Utah. He is a certified fund-raising executive (CFRE). He has been active in the community, having served as president of the Ogden Rotary Club and chair of the Ogden/Weber Chamber Board of Directors.
