TOSH Awarded for Clinical Quality

MURRAY (12/8/2009) – TOSH–The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital has been awarded the HealthInsight quality award for the second year in a row. The award is given to hospitals ranked in the top quarter of Medicare’s quality indicators, which means TOSH is among the best-performing hospitals in Utah in antibiotic administration and timing.

Recipients of HealthInsight’s hospital quality awards achieve high levels of performance on quality measures that come from patient information collected by home health agencies, nursing homes, and hospitals. To receive an award, a hospital must rank at or above the 75th percentile in HealthInsight’s national rankings.

“This is great recognition for each member of our team,” says Bryan Johnson, TOSH’s administrator. “It recognizes the extra-mile effort our people invest to provide extraordinary care for all our patients, and our consistent success in meeting national quality standards.”

HealthInsight is a nonprofit organization that contracts with Medicare to help improve the quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and economy of healthcare services provided to people who are insured by Medicare in Utah and Nevada.

TOSH is one of the country's premier facilities for orthopedic surgical care, rehabilitation and physical therapy, sports performance training, and nutrition counseling.
