Weigh to Health Nutrition Class

LDS Hospital is beginning a 12-week course on how to safely lose weight, keep it off, and develop the kinds of lifestyle habits that will endure for longer than just the first few months of a new year. The once-a-week, 90-minute class is taught by a registered dietitian with guest instructors such as exercise specialists, behavior specialists, and a chef.

The course is held every Thursday evening from January 21–April 8, from 6-7:30 p.m. at LDS Hospital. The cost of the course is $225, which includes the 12 weekly course, and 12 monthly follow-up classes. (Some insurances may partially reimburse the cost of the class.)

Participants will also learn how to set personal goals using eating style and exercise assessment tools, learn to manage their daily nutrition, activity, and behavior, and track intake and exercise to ensure an overall healthier lifestyle. Specific topics that will be covered in the course include Nutrition 101, Exercise 101, Meal Planning, Emotional Eating, Label Reading, Positive Self Talk, Intuitive Eating, Behavior Modification, Stress Management, Shopping on a Budget, Healthy Cooking, and Eating Out.
