Healthcare Scholarships Now Available

Five high school seniors in Cache and Box Elder Counties will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to pursue post-secondary education in a healthcare field, funded by Intermountain Medical Group physicians in Cache Valley and Box Elder Counties.

This is the tenth anniversary of the Cache Valley Intermountain Medical Group Life Sciences Scholarship. Over the past decade, $35,000 has been provided in scholarships, through donations by these doctors.

“As physicians in the Intermountain Medical Group, we believe in promoting education and supporting local students pursuing a career in the life sciences,” said David L. Harker, M.D., one of the contributing physicians and a member of the scholarship planning committee. “We hope some of these students will come back and serve the people in their local communities.”

Scholarships are available to seniors at Bear River, Logan, Mountain Crest, Sky View, Cache, Fast Forward, and Intech Collegiate High Schools. To qualify, an applicant must be pursuing a degree in life sciences and not receiving a scholarship of equal or greater value from another source. Applications are available through the high school counseling offices and each school district’s education foundation. The application deadline is April 1. Scholarships will be awarded in May.
