Joint Replacement Center at LDS Hospital Is Named a “Center of Excellence”

The Joint Replacement Center at LDS Hospital has been designated as a “Blue Distinction Center of Excellence” for knee and hip replacement surgery by Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.

The designation is granted after an evaluation of a hospital’s organizational structure, care processes, and outcome measures — and is awarded to facilities that demonstrate a commitment to quality care, offer comprehensive inpatient knee and hip replacement services, and deliver reliable and consistent, high-quality outcomes for hip and knee replacement patients.

LDS Hospital will be recognized on Blue Cross’s public website and on its doctor and hospital finder tools for the quality of joint replacement care.

“This center of excellence designation is a wonderful corroboration of the skill and caring of the physicians and staff members on our Joint Replacement team,” says LDS Hospital administrator Mikelle Moore. “We appreciate all they do to give us terrific outcomes and satisfied patients who love the individualized and extraordinary care they receive here.”
