Logan Regional Hospital CEO Accepts New Position at Intermountain Medical Center

(Logan, UT) May 6, 2010. Logan Regional Hospital CEO Bob Cash has accepted a position as operations officer at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, starting June 7, 2010. His last day serving as Logan Regional Hospital CEO/administrator will be Friday, June 4, 2010.

“I cannot adequately express what a wonderful experience I have had serving here as administrator at Logan Regional Hospital,” said Cash. “My family and I have loved our time in Cache Valley and will greatly miss the hospital and the community. I am now looking forward to my new role at Intermountain Medical Center. This move will also bring my family closer to our adult children and extended family members along the Wasatch Front.”

Timothy Pehrson, vice president/CEO of Intermountain Healthcare’s Urban North Region, which includes Logan Regional Hospital, said Cash has excelled in his leadership role as CEO. “Bob has been an exceptional leader as well a great friend and colleague. I will miss him immensely. At the same time, his new role as operations officer at Intermountain Medical Center is a wonderful opportunity for Bob and his family. It is a big role, and I know he is up to the challenge and will do a tremendous job there, as he has done in Logan.”

Intermountain Medical Center includes a 100-acre campus with centers of excellence in heart and vascular services, cancer care, outpatient care, women and newborn care, level 1 trauma and emergency medicine, and pulmonary care. As operations officer, Cash will be responsible for several key service areas at Intermountain Medical Center, as well as at other Intermountain hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley.

Pehrson said plans are now moving forward to fill the position of CEO/administrator at Logan Regional. “The position has been posted and we are hopeful to complete the interview and selection process by the time Bob leaves.”

Cash has served as CEO/administrator at Logan Regional since 2004. As he looks back over the past six years, he said he is very proud of what the hospital team has accomplished. “With the collective efforts of our employees and physicians, we have opened a new Women & Newborn Center and a Cancer Center, earned designation as a level 3 trauma center, launched a hospitalist program, and achieved many other milestones,” he said. “There are also exciting plans for the future. Logan Regional is in good hands. I have full confidence in our team and I am committed to working with Intermountain Healthcare leaders to make this transition successful.”

Originally from Lehi, Utah, Cash holds a degree in accounting from BYU and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix. Prior to coming to Logan Regional Hospital, he served in administrative roles at several Utah hospitals. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and currently serves as president of the Utah chapter of that organization. He was recently honored with the statewide ACHE Regent’s Award for his significant contributions to healthcare management and achievement of ACHE goals. Cash also served as chair of the Cache County Chamber of Commerce in 2009. He and his wife, Judy, have five children and three grandchildren.
