New Operations Officer at Intermountain Medical Center

Murray, UT (5/7/2010) - Bob Cash, administrator of Intermountain Healthcare’s Logan Regional Hospital, has accepted a position as operations officer at Intermountain Medical Center. Bob replaces Jeff Sanders, who is taking a new executive job in his home state of Maine.

Bob will join the administrative team at Intermountain Medical Center on June 7. He will oversee cardiovascular services, surgical services, imaging, research, hyperbaric medicine, sleep services, and transplant services.

David Grauer, administrator of Intermountain Medical Center, says Bob’s greatest strengths are his relationships with physicians and employees, and his knowledge and understanding of the Intermountain system.

“We are excited to have Bob join our administrative team at Intermountain Medical Center and in the Urban Central Region,” says David. “Bob and I worked together for several years in the region before he went to Logan, and I have always admired and appreciated his warmth, graciousness, and effectiveness in dealing with challenging issues. Bob has made numerous contributions to our region and system and is a proven leader who has great interpersonal skills. He has a wonderful ability to bring people together to get things done for the benefit of our patients, physicians, and employees. He’ll be a great resource for our team, and I couldn't be more thrilled to welcome him back.”

Bob’s last day as Logan Regional Hospital administrator will be Friday, June 4.

“I have both cherished memories of my time in Logan and anticipation for my new role as I make this change,” says Bob. “For some time now, my family and I have been considering a need to move to the Wasatch Front to be closer to our adult children and grandchildren, and to help meet the needs of aging parents. Accepting this assignment at Intermountain Medical Center seems the right thing for me, both professionally and personally, and I look forward to the opportunities in my new role. At the same time, I cannot adequately express what a wonderful experience I have had serving as administrator at Logan Regional Hospital.”

Bob has been with Intermountain Healthcare since 1997. In addition to serving as administrator and chief executive officer of Logan Regional Hospital since 2004, he previously served as administrator of Alta View Hospital and as an operations officer in the Urban Central Region. Before joining Intermountain, Bob was the CEO/administrator of Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton and CEO/administrator of Western Rehabilitation Institute in Sandy. He also worked in administrative and financial roles in health systems in New Hampshire and Florida.

Bob is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves as president of the Utah chapter of that organization. He recently received a statewide ACHE Regent’s Award for his significant contributions to healthcare management and achievement of ACHE goals. Bob also served as chair of the Cache County Chamber of Commerce in 2009. He holds a degree in accounting from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Originally from Lehi, he is married to his high school sweetheart, Judy. They are the parents of five children and have three grandchildren.

“Bob has been an exceptional leader as well a great friend and colleague,” says Tim Pehrson, vice president of Intermountain’s Urban North Region. “I will miss him immensely. At the same time, his new role as operations officer at Intermountain Medical Center is a wonderful opportunity for Bob and his family. It is a big role, and I know he is up to the challenge and will do a tremendous job there, as he has done in Logan.”

Please join the administrative team in welcoming Bob to Intermountain Medical Center.
