Cleverley Top 100

Dixie Regional Medical Center has once again been named to the Community Value Index® (CVI) Top 100 hospitals list. Cleverley + Associates conducts an annual evaluation of the U.S. hospital industry to provide a measure of the value that a hospital provides to its community.

The CVI is composed of ten measures that assess a hospital’s performance in four areas: 1. Financial viability and plant reinvestment; 2. Hospital cost structure; 3. Hospital charge structure; 4. Hospital quality performance. The CVI suggests a hospital provides value to the community when it is financially viable, is appropriately reinvesting back into the facility, maintains a low cost structure, has reasonable charges, and provides high quality care to patients.

“Measurement in these areas suggests that hospitals operating with a high degree of community value are those that are low cost, low charge, and use a strong financial position to reinvest back into the provision of care at the facility,” wrote Jamie Cleverley, Cleverley + Associates Principal in the award notification. Each area contains metrics that compare hospitals to an appropriate peer group. Combined performance ratings make up the overall score.

Hospitals with scores in the top twenty percent are designated “Five-Star” facilities. A subset of this group is the “Top 100” which contains the highest scoring facilities in the country. Dixie Regional achieved both designations for the second consecutive year. Valley View Medical Center, also an Intermountain facility, earned “Five-Star” designation for the second consecutive year.
