Dr. Magid Amer at Southwest Regional Cancer Clinic

We're pleased to introduce Dr. Magid Amer, who will practice oncology through the end of this year as a replacement for Dr. Lemon. A native of Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Amer is an internationally recognized oncologist and has practiced medicine for over thirty years in four countries.

Dr. Amer completed his medical degree, internship and residency at Cairo University in association with the Kasr El-Eini Teaching Hospitals. In 1968, he moved to the United Kingdom and practiced at Northampton General Hospital and the Royal Infirmary Hospital before completing an internal medicine residency at Cowlyn Bay General Hospital in Wales. Dr. Amer made his way to the United States in 1971, practicing at hospitals in Massachusetts. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan to fulfill a medical oncology fellowship with Wayne State University, where he later served as an Instructor of Medical Oncology.

From 1978 to 1991, Dr. Amer practiced at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He returned to Egypt for the next decade, serving as Director of the Cairo Cancer Clinic, a large medical oncology practice. Since 2001, he has practiced medical oncology at several locations across Ohio, including the Gerad Center for Cancer Treatment.

Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Amer has published 50 articles in national and international medical journals and given 40 presentations worldwide. His wife is also a doctor, and they have three grown daughters.

The Southwest Regional Cancer Clinic welcomes Dr. Amer, who will practice oncology through the end of this year.
