First Time in Utah: Kimberly-Clark National Infection Control Education Bus Comes to Logan Regional Hospital June 15

(Logan, UT) June 11, 2010. The Kimberly Clark Corporation started a large infection control educational program in 2008 to emphasize the importance of infection control in medical facilities throughout the United States. A 45-foot bus, equipped with 12 computer learning stations to help hospital systems train staff members on specific infection control topics, travels to hospitals throughout the nation as part of this program.

For the first time, the Kimberly-Clark Education Bus will visit hospitals in Utah, starting at Logan Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 15, and continuing on to other Intermountain Healthcare hospitals throughout the state in the following days.

Doctors, nurses, and other clinicians at Logan Regional will have the opportunity to attend continuing medical education programs throughout the day on June 15 covering various aspects of hospital infection control.

“Infection control is a relevant issue in healthcare today and prevention is always our top priority,” said Neil C. Perkes, Logan Regional Hospital chief nursing officer. “We provide education and training to our staff on this and other patient safety topics throughout the year. We are pleased to have the Kimberly-Clark Education Bus on our campus this week and provide their training resources to our physicians and employees.”
